Optical FX are a dedicated 360° Virtual Tour provider, nothing else.
Many of our competitors are web developers first and provide tours as a secondary service along with many other things but we made the decision a few years ago to let the web design side of our business go in order to develop our skills, embrace the technology and push through to be pioneer in our field. We recently added a talking receptionist to a virtual tour and believe this to be the first ever commercial tour to utilize such technology!
This page will keep developing as new projects present greater opportunities but for now here are a few services we can offer to enhance your virtual tour.
Custom Navigation
Typically this would be a floorplan (as shown opposite) if the subject were a house or a boat, but if that isn’t an option we can design a bespoke menu based around your existing branding.
Voice Overs
In some cases, the visual aspect of the tour doesn’t explain all that you want it to get over to the viewer and you would like to be able to explain a few details verbally. We can now offer the facility to play an audio commentary while the tour is rotating, this serves well as a virtual salesman. For example, if an Estate Agent were showing you around a property they would be explaining suplimentary details that you wouldn’t know if you were looking around on your own.

Moving people
This is our most exciting offering! Never before have we seen this done in commercial virtual tours and boy, does it get people talking about you! Through our partners, we can have the video footage shot on site or if you prefer, you can give us a script and we’ll source a suitable model and shoot the clip at our studio.
Ambient background Sounds
In some locations such as a school classroom or restaurant, having some chatter and ambient sounds recorded on location can create a deeper sense of being there when viewing the tour. Movie Clips
We try to keep things as real as possible in the virtual tours and don’t like floating a movie clip in mid air but if you have a monitor or TV in the scene, why not have a video playing in there? This could be an existing promotional video or why not let our partners DB Sound & Vision create something for you?

Hotspots
These are the clickable elements in your virtual tour and can do one of many things.
- Link through to another room/tour
- Open a photo – this can be either to show a feature in more detail or to give a simple view of less prominent areas around your premises.
- Pop up a text box, giving more detail to the tour. This works well if elements of the tour need explaining.
- Link to products and turn your tour into a virtual showroom. Individual products around the scene can link back to relevant pages on your website from which someone could buy a product or find more information.
Forms
We are able to create forms from within the tour where visitors can fill in details as they would on a contact us page on a website. We have used forms in training environments where visitors can post questions and receive email replies, we have created quizzes or simply log in screens to capture visitor information.
